Platepath

For community organisations

You hold the information people need most.

Whether you're open, who you can serve, and what to bring. Platepath's job is to make that easy to find and easy to keep current, so the people you serve arrive at the right door at the right time.

Honest status

No partners yet.

We are looking for the first organisations to pilot with. Until then, every listing on the site is fictional demo data.

Who this is for

  • Food banks
  • Pantries
  • Meal programs
  • Community fridges
  • Community centres
  • Campuses
  • Municipalities
  • Low-cost grocers

What a pilot looks like

Small, local, and shaped by you.

Listings go stale because updating them means emailing a dozen directories. A partner should have to say it once. Here is how we would start.

  1. Step 1: A conversation first

What your visitors struggle with, what you would want a tool like this to do, and what it should never do.

  2. Step 2: Your listings, checked with you

Hours, eligibility, what to bring, accessibility. Once you confirm them, they are marked organisation-verified with a date.

  3. Step 3: Partner accounts for your staff

People you name get a partner sign-in to keep your listing current and see reports about it.

  4. Step 4: Review together

After a few weeks we look at what broke and what helped, and change the tool. A pilot is a small number of organisations in one area.

What partners get

A dashboard to manage your listing.

Partner sign-in needs an authorised partner account, which we set up with your organisation during a pilot. It is not open sign-up.

  • Propose listing changes

Hours, address, eligibility, what to bring and languages.

  • Flag closures

Holidays and one-off closures, so plans route around them.

  • See community reports

When someone reports a change to one of your listings, you see it.

  • Moderated, not automatic

A Platepath moderator reviews each proposal before the public listing changes.

  • Every change logged

Reviews and applied changes are written to an audit log.

  • Scoped to your organisation

Partner accounts can only act on listings that belong to their own organisation.

How listings get verified

Every listing says where its information came from.

Visitors see the status and the last-checked date on every listing, so they know how much to trust it before they travel.

  1. Demo data

What you see on Platepath today. Fictional organisations in a fictional city, labelled on every listing, never indexed by search engines.

  2. Public listing

Built from information an organisation publishes itself, such as its website or a public dataset, with the source and date recorded.

  3. Organisation-verified

Confirmed directly by the organisation or a partner account, with the date it was checked. Still posted information, not a live stock count.

Community reports sit alongside all three. Anyone can report that a listing looks wrong. The organisation's partner accounts see reports about their own listings, and a moderator decides what changes.
